All,

Based on our on-going discussions regarding terminology and associated comments for the IEEE P802.3ct project, I am chartering the Terminology (Part II) ad hoc, chaired by Gary Nicholl, to revisit noted terminology issues associated with the terms DWDM System, DWDM Channel, DWDM Link, and Black Link, as well as any figures associated with the communication of these terms. The output of this ad hoc will be to bring a recommendation to the P802.3ct Task Force by the 2/18 electronic meeting, which can be used in addressing comments submitted against P802.3ct D3.1.

As I noted on today’s call, the ad hoc will most likely have to meet after 1pm ET, due to the use of the 10 am to 1pm time slot being used by other 802.3 task forces for their official meeting time.
