HOW TO SUBMIT COMMENTS

Acceptable comment types:

E = Editorial

T = Technical

1. Prepare your comments in one of the following three ways. You are STRONGLY REQUESTED to use either the comment tool or spreadsheet. A comment entry tutorial is available at http://www.ieee802.org/3/ballots/p802d3_comment_entry_tutorial_v1p1.pdf.

a. Access the comment tool at the URL (last updated September 2015):

http://www.ieee802.org/3/WG_tools/filemaker/Generic_Commenting_Tool_FM.zip

To use the tool, extract all components into a folder and do not move any component from that folder as this will cause the executable to not work correctly. The tool is:

Comment_Tool_Generic_Solution.exe

b. Access the comment spreadsheet at the URL:

http://www.ieee802.org/3/WG_tools/spreadsheet/802d3_TFR_WGB_comments.xls

c. To submit comments in text (ASCII) form, please use the form below. This will make it possible for the editor to properly record and track all submissions. Make as many copies of the template as necessary and submit as an ASCII text file or as part of your e-mail. Please use this method only if the previous two methods are not practical.

PLEASE NOTE: The ASCII method involves a manual transcription, hence you are recommended to check your comments to ensure accurate transcription when the comment file is made available.

Please use one of the comment tools above if possible.

Subject: Announcing D1.0 availability and start of Task Force Review

Dear Colleagues,

I’m announcing the availability of P802.3cu D1.0 to initiate the Task Force Review.

The draft is available in our private area: http://www.ieee802.org/3/cu/private/index.html

You can use the 802.3 Username/password combination or contact me for the Task Force specific password.

The Working Group ballot commenting tool will be used to gather comments for Task Force Review.  The tool is available here: http://www.ieee802.org/3/WG_tools/index.html   A comment entry tutorial is available at http://www.ieee802.org/3/ballots/p802d3_comment_entry_tutorial_v1p1.pdf.

The D1.0 Task Force Review period will close at 11:59PM EST on Sunday Oct 27th AOE.  Given the limited review cycle and the limited meeting time availability in November to review the comments, please focus your review on the key issues and gaps in the document (e.g. TBDs) rather than editorial issues.

In November, the editorial team will endeavour to address all of the comments received but will prioritize the comments to make the best use of the meeting time in Hawaii.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Mark Nowell, Chair IEEE P802.3cu 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength Task Force
