Some more updates for the Task Force (obviously this is a changing situation so please bear with us) With regards to cancelling your hotel & registration: Please note the following –
With regards to the TF work: I hope to have more concrete details soon but my current thought is that we will use telephone based meetings (ad hocs or interims) to conduct our work between now and May. This could include some timeslots during
what was the Plenary week but also a regular cadence (weekly?) timeslot going forward. I’m working with the related TF chairs to coordinate schedules. With regards presentation deadlines: I will likely need to be flexible here as our topics are likely to spread out on the calendar. As Gary pointed out in his
Editor Report we have 3 main topics for comment resolution (overshoot, TDECQ-10log(Ceq), reach). I’d like to tackle 1 or 2 of those in the plenary week meeting(s) but doubt we will get to all three. I plan to prioritise them in the order listed here.
As a result, I can see that I’ll need to be flexible on presentation submission deadlines. My goal will to always have presentations posted 4 days ahead of any review in the TF. Therefore here’s my updated request:

Mark From: Steve Carlson <scarlson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Colleagues, Please see this important message regarding the CANCELLATION of the March 802 plenary. The IEEE 802.3 officers are working on plans to allow some level of teleconferencing to keep our work going. We’ll share those details as soon as possible. On Behalf Of Jon Rosdahl IEEE 802 and its family of 802 networking standards have paved the way for global connectivity. For 40 years the face-to-face engagement of the 802 community at our plenary meetings has enabled
innovation for the future. With due regard to the health and safety of our volunteers in the 802 community and in light of the growing global concern regarding COVID-19, on 5 March the LMSC made the difficult decision
to cancel the IEEE 802 Plenary Session previously scheduled for 15-20 March in Atlanta. This decision recognizes that government and company travel restrictions now make it impossible for the LMSC to hold a successful face-to-face plenary with all constituents
of the 802 community fairly represented. Please expect information from staff of Face To Face Events regarding arrangement for a full refund of your registration fees. You are responsible to cancel your hotel reservations. Details for cancelling your Hilton Atlanta reservation will be provided directly via email on Monday the 9th; please wait until you receive
those instructions before you cancel. We recognize that the timing of this decision has significantly inconvenienced many of you. However, this decision was made out of deep concern for the health and well-being of our volunteers,
staff, vendors, and the Atlanta community. Regards, IEEE 802 LMSC Executive Committee ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Rosdahl Engineer, Senior Staff
