Dear Colleagues, A few reminders for the P802.3cu Task Force: - D2.1 recirculation ballot is currently open. Deadline for voting and comments is this Sunday 5/10 AOE. See below for details - Our next Interim Teleconference is Tues 5/19. Per our usual deadlines, I'm requesting that presentation requests be submitted to me by Thurs 5/14 with the actual presentation sent to me on the Friday 5/15 for posting. It is assumed
that presentations would be in support of any submitted comments - Not really needing a reminder right now and the notice just went out but in case you missed it, please see the
call for joining the P802.3cu SA Ballot pool Regards, Mark On 2020-04-27, 7:48 AM, "Mark Nowell (mnowell)" <00000b59be7040a9-dmarc-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Dear Task Force Participants, With this e-mail, I'd like to announce the start of the IEEE P802.3cu/D2.1 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength Working Group 1st recirculation ballot. Open date: Saturday 25th April 2020 Close date: Sunday 10th May 2020 23:59 AOE As stated in the attached announcement, the ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Tuesday 28th January 2020. All comments received before the close of ballot will be considered, the one limitation
however is that if you are not a member of the balloting group, and therefore cannot cast a ballot, you cannot designate comments as TR or ER since you cannot cast a Disapprove ballot. Best regards, Mark Nowell Chair, IEEE P802.3cu 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength Task Force ----- Dear Colleagues, This is the announcement of the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot on the amendment IEEE P802.3cu 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength. Remember that voting, as well as attendance,
is a requirement to maintain your IEEE 802.3 member (voter) status <http://ieee802.org/3/rules/member.html#DOT3>. Instructions for accessing the draft, casting your ballot and submitting comments follow this announcement. Please review the commenting instructions
below to ensure you are using the most up to date tools. The ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Tuesday 28th January 2020. Because this is a recirculation ballot, YOU ONLY NEED TO CAST A BALLOT IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE FROM THAT WHICH WAS RECORDED ON THE INITIAL BALLOT OR LAST RECIRCULATION. If you voted previously and your vote has not changed,
the last ballot cast will be carried over to this ballot and you do not need to cast a new ballot. BALLOT SCOPE: During this IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot, the scope of the ballot is the substantive changes between IEEE P802.3cu/D2.0 and IEEE P802.3cu/D2.1 and the unsatisfied negative comments. CRITERIA FOR STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT: One of the responsibilities as a balloter is to ensure that draft is consistent with the criteria for standards development (CSD) responses which are available at <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/19/ec-19-0062-00-ACSD-p802-3cu.pdf>.
An Approve vote indicates your agreement that the draft is consistent with the CSD responses. BALLOT OPEN: Saturday 25th April 2020 BALLOT CLOSE: Sunday 10th May 2020 23:59 AOE The Project Authorization Request for this Amendment is available at <http://ieee802.org/3/cu/P802_3cu_PAR.pdf> and includes the following: TITLE: Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layers and Management Parameters for 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s Operation over Single-Mode Fiber at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength SCOPE OF PROJECT: This project is to specify additions to and appropriate modifications of IEEE Std 802.3 to add PHY specifications and Management Parameters for 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s Ethernet optical interfaces for reaches up to 10 km based on
100 Gb/s per wavelength optical signaling NEED FOR THE PROJECT: The continual growth of bandwidth demand has driven evolution of higher Ethernet speeds, including 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s Ethernet. To meet this growth, ongoing advancement in optical technology enables the opportunity to develop
higher density or lower cost optical interfaces using 100 Gb/s per wavelength optical signaling with greater than 500 m reach. Thank you for your participation in this ballot and careful review of the draft. Access the comment tool at the URL: <http://www.ieee802.org/3/WG_tools/filemaker/Generic_Commenting_Tool_FM.zip> To use the tool, extract all components into a folder and do not move any component from that folder as this will cause the executable to not work correctly. The tool is: Comment_Tool_Generic_Solution.exe c. To submit comments in text (ASCII) form, please use the form below. This will make it possible for the editor to properly record and track all submissions. Make as many copies of the template as necessary and submit as an
ASCII text file or as part of your e-mail. PLEASE NOTE: The ASCII method involves a manual transcription, hence you are recommended to check your comments to ensure accurate transcription when the comment file is made available. Please use one of the comment tools above
if possible. ------CUT AND PASTE TEXT BELOW THIS LINE ONLY PLEASE-------- CommentID: (Leave Blank) CommenterName: CommenterCompany: Clause: Subclause: Page: Line: CommentType: (E, ER, T, or TR) Comment: CommentEnd: SuggestedRemedy: RemedyEnd: --------------------end comment template------------------ 2.
