Dear Colleagues,

Upon review of previous liaison letters, it was noted that IEEE 802.3 said
it would send an updated draft of IEEE P802.3da to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3
when available. As a result, the IEEE 802.3 PDCC Ad Hoc has drafted a
liaison letter to submit the latest IEEE P802.3da draft to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC
25/WG 3.

In addition, upon review of the next ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3 meeting
agenda, the IEEE 802.3 delegation has decided not to attend the meeting in
person. As a result, the IEEE 802.3 PDCC Ad Hoc has drafted a liaison letter
to inform ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3 that the IEEE 802.3 delegation will not
attend in person and to inform ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3 of the formation of
the IEEE 802.3 Single-Pair Ethernet Powering Cabling Restrictions Study
Group. 

Finally, I've received a request from the IEEE P802.3da and IEEE P802.3dg
Task Force Chairs for IEEE 802.3 approval of motions during joint IEEE
P802.3da/IEEE P802.3dg Task Force meetings, starting during the September
2024 IEEE 802.3 Interim meeting series.

To enable the timely receipt of the above two letters before the next
ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 25/WG 3 meeting, which takes place the week after the
September 2024 IEEE 802.3 Interim meeting series, and to enable motions at
joint IEEE P802.3da/IEEE P802.3dg Task Forces meetings at the September 2024
IEEE 802.3 Interim meeting series, I'm conducting a 10-day Working Group
electronic ballot on these three items.
