Deadline for Requesting Agenda Time to Make a Contribution

Contributors shall request agenda time to make a contribution by [TWO THURSDAYS] (AoE) preceding the week of the meeting.
- Requests for agenda time shall be submitted by sending an email to
the chair.
- The contributor shall provide the following information:
- Name of contributor
- Title of contribution
- Length of time requested (this should include time for questions and answers)
- Brief description of the topic
- If the "agenda time request" deadline is missed, agenda time will be provided for the contribution on a best-effort basis following the completion of the regular agenda (or as deemed appropriate by the chair) if, based on a vote if necessary, there is no objection to do so.
Deadline for Submitting a Contribution
- The contributor shall submit a PDF soft-copy version of the contribution by email to
the Chair by the [MONDAY] (AoE) of the week preceding the meeting for publication on the IEEE Std 802.3-2022/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3dn) Multi-Gigabit Automotive MDI Return Loss Task Force web site.
- If the "contribution submission" deadline is missed, agenda time for the contribution will be provided on a best-effort basis following the completion of the regular agenda (or as deemed appropriate by the chair) if, based on a vote if necessary, there is no objection to do so, and before any contribution that failed to meet the "agenda time request" deadline. A PDF, soft-copy version of the contribution shall be made available to
the Chair before the beginning of the presentation.
Contribution Guidelines
- Failure to meet guidelines may result in a loss of requested agenda time.
- Contributions shall be submitted in PDF format.
- Neither the chair nor the Web Master will convert contributions to PDF format.
- Contributions not in PDF format will be returned.
- Avoid graphic-intensive backgrounds or other decorative graphics.
- No animations, audio clips, video clips, etc.
- Contribution size should be less than 2.0 MB.
- No marketing pitches, product pitches or corporate pitches.
- No prices, average selling prices (ASPs) or costs are permitted.
- Relative cost comparisons of components are permitted (i.e. optics cost for option 1 is 3x the cost of option 2).
- Relative cost comparisons of aggregate costs are not permitted (i.e. PHY cost for option 3 is 2x the cost of option 4).

- Relative cost comparison contributions that do not follow these guidelines require an IEEE SA Risk Management review
- This review may take up to 30 days which could result in the contribution being delayed to a later meeting
- This review may result in changes being required before the contribution will be accepted.
- Please consider contacting
the Chair if you want to provide a relative cost comparison contribution.
- No company copyright or confidentiality statements. All contributions are posted to a publicly available website. If the contribution is not ready for public disclosure, then it shall not be contributed.
- Any previously Published material in a contribution has to be accompanied by a completed IEEE-SA Copyright Permission Form.
- To support the website search tool used by the IEEE 802.3 website the "Document Information" fields of the PDF file must be completed as follows:
- Title:- Title of presentation
- Author:- Name(s) of author(s)
- Subject:- IEEE Std 802.3-2022/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3dn) Multi-Gigabit Automotive MDI Return Loss Task Force
- The "Document Information" fields in a PDF file can be entered as follows:
- Adobe Acrobat: Either use the menu options: "File" -> "Document Info" -> "General" or the shortcut CTRL-D.
- Adobe PDFWriter: When the "Save PDF File As" dialogue appears hit the "Edit Document Info." button, enter the information and then hit the "OK" button.
