Agenda
1. Discussion to determine date/location for a face-to-face ad hoc meeting before the 802.3 interim (need sufficient time to allow the editor to generate EEE draft 1.0 before the 802.3 meeting)
2. Discussion of the list of open items presented in Denver
3. Discussion of process for face-to-face ad hoc proposal submission
The patent policy was read and there were no responses.
Initial discussion centered on who would be attending the face-to-face ad hoc meeting and deciding a date for the meeting. The date 12th August 2008 was proposed. Dimitry is on vacation on that date but should be able to review presentations before the meeting and provide feedback. The date was accepted by the group.
The chair asked who wanted to host the face-to-face ad hoc meeting. George offered the use of the Solarflare facility, if the number of attendees was under 12. Scott confirmed that the meeting could move to Broadcom if the group was larger.
The chair then asked for the areas in which people intended to submit proposals at the ad hoc meeting, based on the list of open items from Denver.
Dimitry offered to submit a proposal in the area of alert signaling.
Sean Lundy said that Aquantia (Hossein?) would submit a proposal on the quiet/refresh signaling. Details might require a further conference call.
Mike Grimwood offered to submit proposals in the area of state machine diagrams
George Zimmerman offered to submit proposals for sleep and wake signaling.
Dimitry asked if Mike would be willing to make a contribution on frequency stability requirements, and Mike said he would.
There was discussion about the process for proposal submission. The group decided that a list of face-to-face attendees would be made available before the meeting, and that proposals should be submitted to all attendees by Sunday the 6th of August to give time for the proposals to be studied and comments made/resolved before the face-to-face meeting.
The face-to-face ad hoc meeting will be held 10am to 6pm, Tuesday 12th August 2008 at the Solarflare office in Irvine.
Those planning to attend the face-to-face ad hoc meeting should send an RSVP (by email) to Gavin by Wednesday 30th July.
