I am pleased to announce that the IEEE-SA Standards
Board New Standards Committee (NesCom) reviewed and
approved the Project Authorization Request (PAR)
for P802.3ah, aka Ethernet in the First Mile.
While NesCom met as scheduled, the IEEE-SA Standards
Board meeting scheduled for Thursday September 13th
was cancelled. The Standards Board will conduct an
electronic ballot within the next two weeks to consider
the NesCom recommendations. I will let you know as
soon as the Standards Board's decision is announced.
