[EFM] P2MP GATE message
Dear Members of the IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile Task Force,
I would appreciate very much could anyone help to clarify my following doubts:
It seems that the MAC control client of OLT is reponsible for generating the GATE message, which includes Start and Length for each ONU. My thinking is these values should be measured by MAC clock, but how can MAC control client (LLC, etc) know this timing information? since usually the MAC control client has no exact timing information on MAC control/MAC sublayer.
