The next meeting of the IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile Task Force

Mile Alliance are the hosts for the meeting. This meeting will be co-located
with interim meetings of the 802.17 Resilient Packet Ring Working Group,
and the 802.1 HILI Working Group. Face to Face Events is providing the
meeting planning services.

Please read the meeting announcement at:

As stated in the announcement, the reservation deadline for the hotel is
Friday August 30, 2002. Also note that there will be a registration fee
charged for this meeting to cover the cost of meeting rooms, AV equipment,
lunch, coffee breaks, etc. A registration web page will be posted shortly.
If you register in advance via the web, the fee with be $250 US, and this
will increase to $300 US for on-site registrations, so you are encouraged
to register in advance.

Detailed agendas for the 802.3ah EFM sessions will be posted one
week before the meeting. A rough agenda for the 802.3ah EFM sessions
is as follows:

Monday 9/30 am - 802.3ah EFM Task Force opening session
Monday 9/30 pm - 802.3ah EFM Sub Task Force break out sessions
Tuesday 10/1 all day - 802.3ah EFM Sub Task Force break out sessions

Thursday 10/3 pm - 802.3ah EFM EFM Task Force closing session

Please do not plan on departing before 6:00 pm on Thursday 10/3.

The overall goal for the meeting will be to review the comments received
on IEEE Draft P802.3ah/D1.0. The draft will be made available on August
19th, along with instructions for submitting comments. Generally speaking,
the sub task force chairs will give first priority to reviewing the
draft, and
will grant airtime only for those presentations which concern the contents
of the draft, and which make suggestions for additions, deletions, or
changes
in the draft.

I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans!

Howard Frazier
Chair, IEEE 802.3ah EFM Task Force
