I wanted to update everyone that the proposed HSE Consensus Industry Connections activity has been approved by the IEEE-SA Standards Board.

I will work with David Law and Wael Diab on the formative stages of the activity.

Please note that it was announced pending approvals that the ad hoc would be meeting on Sunday Sept 23 in Geneva.  For further details please see http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/3/interims/geneva_info_0912.html.

As promised here is update. 

 

The Industry Connections Program is essentially new, and 802 does not have any rules in place at this time to get endorsement.  As a member of the EC I am working to get this corrected.  However, at this time the EC would like to see support from 802.3 on the ICAID form.  So there will be a vote at the Closing 802.3 Plenary on Thursday.  So please be there to support this effort.

 

Assuming support this will be forwarded to ICCOM for consideration/ recommendatoin on Monday, followed by  the Standards Board.

 

The issue has been associated with process, not with anything related to what is being proposed.
