Dear Colleagues,
I have update the IEEE 802.3 member ballot return records page <
http://ieee802.org/3/ballots/ballot_returns.pdf> recording which ballots current IEEE 802.3
members have responded to as of
Friday 13th November 2015 (prior to the opening of the current recirculation ballots).
As I have stated in every ballot notice, voting, as well as attendance, is a requirement to maintain your IEEE 802.3 member (voter) status. The 'IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee Working Group Policy and Procedures' subclause 7.2.3 'Loss' states that
'Excepting recirculation letter ballots membership may be lost if two of the last three WG letter ballots are not returned, or are returned with an abstention for other than “lack of technical expertise”.' and that 'If lost per this subclause, membership is
re-established as if the person were a new candidate member.' meaning that previous attendance credit will be lost.
As I have now announced several times I will be enforcing this rule once the next two recirculations close. I therefore request that you review the drafts currently in recirculation ballot, and consider casting a ballot if you have not already done so.
A listing of open ballots can always be found at the URL <
http://ieee802.org/3/ballots/announce.html>.
I have also added a new IEEE 802.3 ballot results page <
http://ieee802.org/3/ballots/results.html> where I provided a record of the Working Group and Sponsor ballot results for the most recent IEEE
802.3 revision, and subsequent amendments.
Best regards,
David
