Dear Colleagues,
IEEE 802.3 will hold its March 2023 plenary session from Monday 13 March 2023 through Thursday 16 March 2023. The plenary session will be held at the Hilton Atlanta, Atlanta, GA, USA with support for mixed-mode attendance (i.e., remote attendance). Please
note that the meetings are being planned around an in-person schedule, with remote access provided on a best-effort basis.
The IEEE 802.3 Working Group (WG) opening plenary meeting will begin at 10h00 EDT (14h00 UTC) on Monday 13 March 2023, and the IEEE 802.3 WG closing plenary meeting will begin at 13h00 EDT (17h00 UTC) on Thursday 16 March 2023. Please find the IEEE 802.3
Working Group opening and closing plenary meeting call information at the end of this email, I'll send calendar invitations shortly. Task Force (TF) standing committee and any appropriate ad hoc meetings will be scheduled between the opening and closing IEEE
802.3 meetings. Please always check <
https://ieee802.org/3/calendar.html> for the most up-to-date information.
The draft agendas, as well as liaison letters received so far, are available in the minutes area <
https://ieee802.org/3/minutes/mar23/index.html> and will
be updated as required prior to the meeting. The agenda will be approved at the meeting.
We will gather two records of attendance: [1] the attendance tracking tool (IMAT); and [2] attendance books in each face-to-face meeting along with the teleconference tool attendance. The IMAT attendance tool will be the only official record of attendance
for building and maintaining WG membership. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LOG YOUR ATTENDANCE IN THE IMAT ATTENDANCE TRACKING TOOL. There is no requirement for the IEEE 802.3 Recording Secretary or any other IEEE 802.3 officer to add your attendance
to the IMAT attendance tracking tool if you forget to register it during a meeting. The meeting attendance books along with the teleconference tool attendance will be used to record the attendance in the minutes for each meeting and you must review these minutes
to make sure your attendance is recorded correctly.
Attendance credit toward membership requires attendance at three of the four days of the IEEE 802.3 session, independent of how long a particular subgroup might be meeting. The attendance tracking tool will only allow sign-in on Monday at the opening IEEE
802.3 plenary and on Thursday at the closing IEEE 802.3 plenary meeting (not during the Monday afternoon or Thursday morning meetings). Several WG decisions are expected during the IEEE 802.3 meetings (most during the Thursday Closing plenary meetings). Depending
on the amount of discussion, IEEE 802.3 WG meetings may run beyond their target ending times, so please plan your time accordingly.
I look forward to seeing you in Atlanta, GA, USA.

IEEE 802.3 Business
-------------------
In addition to regular Working Group business, there will be Task Force and Ad Hoc business based on the status below.
Maintenance Task Force
----------------------
As no new maintenance requests have been received by the deadline for consideration at the March 2023 plenary session, and there are no items regarding the adoption of IEEE 802.3 standards by ISO/IEC SC6 as ISO/IEC/IEEE 8802-3 standards to progress, the
IEEE 802.3 Maintenance Task Force is not planning to meet during the March 2023 plenary session.
The meeting time will instead be an opportunity to attend an IEEE 802.1 YANGsters meeting which IEEE 802.3 participants are invited to attend. The IEEE 802.1 YANGsters subgroup is very active and YANG and MIB development is a significant activity in IEEE
802.1 with nearly two dozen modules. With the proposed IEEE P802.3.2 Standard for Ethernet - YANG Data Model Definitions revision project, this will be an opportunity to discuss details on data model semantics, as well as an opportunity for a broader discussion
of how IEEE 802.1 can provide development guidance, assistance, and review.
Questions about the Task Force can be addressed to the Task Force Chair, Mr Adam Healey.
IEEE P802.3cw 400 Gb/s over DWDM systems Task Force
---------------------------------------------------
The IEEE P802.3cw Task Force is expected to be conducting a first Working Group recirculation ballot of IEEE P802.3cw draft D2.1 during the plenary session. As a result, the IEEE P802.3cw Task Force is not planning to meet during the plenary session.
Questions about the Task Force can be addressed to the Task Force Chair, Mr John D'Ambrosia.
IEEE P802.3cx Improved PTP timestamping accuracy Task Force
-----------------------------------------------------------
IEEE P802.3cx draft D3.3 has been submitted to the 29 March 2023 Review Committee (RevCom) meeting agenda. As a result, the IEEE P802.3cx Task Force is not planning to meet during the March 2023 plenary session.
Questions about the Task Force can be addressed to the Task Force Chair, Mr Steve Gorshe.
IEEE P802.3cy Greater than 10 Gb/s Electrical Automotive Ethernet Task Force
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The IEEE P802.3cy Task Force is expected to be considering comments received during the 1st Standards Association recirculation ballot of IEEE P802.3cy D3.1 which is planned to close prior to the plenary session. With the project near to completing Standards
Association balloting, it is expected that the Task Force will request conditional approval to proceed to RevCom submittal.
Questions about the Task Force can be addressed to the Task Force Chair, Mr Steve Carlson.
IEEE P802.3cz Multi-Gigabit Optical Automotive Ethernet Task Force
------------------------------------------------------------------
IEEE P802.3cz draft D3.2 has been submitted to the 29 March 2023 Review Committee (RevCom) meeting agenda. As a result, the IEEE P802.3cz Task Force is not planning to meet during the March 2023 plenary session.
Questions about the Task Force can be addressed to the Task Force Chair, Mr Bob Grow.
IEEE P802.3da 10 Mb/s Single Pair Multidrop Segments Enhancement Task Force
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The IEEE P802.3da Task Force continues to work on the selection of a set of baseline proposals to satisfy the project objectives, progressing towards a technically complete draft for Working Group ballot.
