[802.3_DIALOG] Notice of March 2026 IEEE 802 elections

Dear Colleagues,
 
Please review the message below from James Gilb, the IEEE 802 Chair, regarding the March 2026 elections and the confirmation of appointed Executive Committee members, Working Group and Technical Advisory Group Chairs and Vice-Chairs. During these elections, I will seek re-election as Chair of IEEE 802.3, and Adam Healey will seek re-election as Vice-Chair of IEEE 802.3.
 
As approved at the November 2025 IEEE 802.3 closing plenary meeting, the election process for the IEEE 802.3 Chair and Vice-chair can be found on slides 32 and 33 of the November 2025 IEEE 802.3 Working Group closing plenary report slide set <https://www.ieee802.org/3/minutes/nov25/1125_802_3_closing_plenary.pdf#page=32>. Other IEEE 802.3 officers are appointed positions without a specified term. If re-elected, I do not intend to make any changes to the current IEEE 802.3 Working Group officers (Jon Lewis, Recording Secretary; Chad Jones, Executive Secretary; Valerie Maguire, Treasurer), or to the Task Force, Study Group, and Ad Hoc Chairs and Vice-chairs.

As stated in the IEEE 802 LMSC Policies & Procedures (P&P) (8 Feb 2021) sections 3.0 (Officers), and 4.0 (Membership), the "term for all officers of the Standards Committee ends at close of the first plenary session of each even numbered year." Accordingly, election/appointments are scheduled to occur at the March 2026 Plenary Session.

Nominations for the elected position of IEEE 802 LMSC Chair are due by 22 January 2026, sent to this reflector, and cc myself (Gilb_IEEE@xxxxxxxx) and Beth Kochuparambil (bethk@xxxxxxxx), so that we can schedule tutorial time for candidate forum if there is more than one candidate.
