[802.3_EPOC] Meeting in Beijing in June
Dear Members of the IEEE 802.3 EPoC PHY Study Group,
As you are probably aware, I have been trying to
arrange for us to hold an interim meeting in Beijing
during the first week of June, co-located with the
IEEE-SA Standards Board series of meetings.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to finalize the
arrangements in time to announce the meeting with
sufficient advance notice. Therefore, we will NOT
be meeting in Beijing in June.
I intend to continue to work on getting us to China
before the end of this year, and I am open to proposals,
suggestions, and offers. For reference, our
schedule of meetings for the next year can be found
here:
http://www.ieee802.org/3/interims/index.html
There is nothing that prevents us from holding meetings
in addition to the ones listed in this schedule,
provided that we supply at least 30 days advance notice.
I observe that we will probably be meeting as
an IEEE 802.3 Task Force from September of this year
onwards. The work load of a Task Force is substantially
higher than the work load of a Study Group, so additional
Task Force interim meetings are readily justified.
The Executive Secretary of the IEEE 802.3 Working Group,
Mr. Steve Carlson, and I would be happy entertain any
suggestions or offers you may have that will help us
accomplish the goal of holding a productive meeting in
China.
I apologize if my failure to pull the Beijing meeting
together has caused you any inconvenience.
Howard Frazier
Chair, IEEE 802.3 EPoC PHY Study Group
