Re: [802.3_EPOC] [AMP-MSO] Visit to Comcast headend in Minneapolis

Study Group Colleagues,

Please read in detail below if you are planning to attend the tour. There are important action items described below, including NDA and need for cars for transportation to the headend.

A few additional people signed up for the tour. I have updated the list below. If your name is not included, but you would like to attend, please fill out the brief questionnaire located at http://doodle.com/v75wyuhxakwvqmh7Please don't forget to click on "SAVE" before closing the browser. Or, send me an Email if you have any trouble with the questionnaire.

A couple of additional important points regarding this tour:
  • Tour participants MUST sign an NDA. The NDA is attached to this Email. Please print it, sign it, and bring it with you to attend the tour. Please note that we won't be able to admit anyone that has not signed the NDA (no exceptions).
  • The tour will take place on Monday before the meeting, from 4-6 PM CT.
  • We will be driving from the hotel, departing at 3:30 PM. We will go on several cars and so far ONLY have ROOM for 16 people (plus the 4 drivers), so we still need room for 6 people. Please let me know if any of you will have a car in which you could take others. We will need a couple more cars than what we have so far. So far the following people will be driving:
    • myself: space for 5 people
    • Joe Solomon: space for 5 people
    • Matt Schmitt: space for 3 people
    • Hal Roberts: space for 3 people
Please note the following regarding the tour:
  1. Absolutely NO PICTURES are allowed in the headend.
  2. The facility we will visit is a live headend serving live content to our customers. Because of that, we will have to observe the following:
    • No cellphones and/or any cellular devices are allowed (must be turned of to avoid any RF interference)
    • No touching of any equipment, cabling, etc.
    • No leaning against any equipment, racks, walls, etc.
    • Hands in pockets all the time.
    • As we walk between racks please maintain sufficient distance with equipment and cabling on both sides to avoid the chance of disconnecting anything.
    • No chewing gum.
  3. Because of security and confidentiality reason, we will provide the address of the headend we will be visiting only to those coming to the tour after the NDA is signed.
Hope this is productive for those that want to attend. We hope it is a fun activity as well.

Regards,
Jorge
