[802.3_EPOC] FW: Rejected posting to STDS-802-3-EPOC@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Steve,
David,
Paul,
The EPoC Study Group reflector seems to be limited to distributing
attachments that don't exceed 500KB. See below a sample rejection notice
from the reflector when I tried to send a PDF of a set of slides we were
reviewing at a meeting. FYI, I tried to send the PPT first and that
bounced for the same reason, so I tried to send the PDF which also bounced
even though it was much smaller.
I don't know if this is a rule that applies to all 802.3 projects, or only
applies to Study Groups, but it at least seems to apply to the EPoC Study
Group.
Could you let us know if this restriction will not be an issue for the
EPoC TF moving forward, or if all projects have this attachment size
restriction? If the later, could this restriction be lifted so we can
distribute larger attachments?
Naturally we think that this restriction is overly constraining,
especially given the nature and size of attachments of common use
nowadays. Perhaps there is a good reason for doing that, in which case we
will have to find a workaround (although maybe IEEE promotes a supported
workaround).
Thanks!
Jorge
