Dear colleagues, Andrea, myself and Patrick prepared a joint base-line proposal for Data-Rate Adaptation (DRA) function for EPoC, deriving definitions and individual state diagrams (SDs) from specifications included in Clause 77 for 10G-EPON. We would like to share this document with you ahead of the meeting in hope of receiving additional comments on this document, especially on the proposed extensions to individual SD (please note, these are not final, and much more work will need to be done in the near future). We would also welcome supporters ? please contact myself and Andrea offline if you want to be listed as a supporter for this proposal. Comments should be shared via reflector for the benefit of open discussion. A small note here ? we are aware that the names of individual variables are not perhaps perfectly suited for EPoC. These will be aligned in the future and I am sure we will have heated debates on what the appropriate names should be. Please treat them as first order approximation for now, to keep the SDs and definitions as close to Clause 77 counterparts as possible, facilitating understanding of what is happening in the given SD. Note also that this proposal is equally application to TDD and FDD, as well as SMP and MMP ? we tried to stay clear from these items and focus on the core problem we?ve set to solve.
