John,
My preferred solution is a single PMD that
supports:
At least 150m on OM3
At least 250m on OM4
This is essentially the Jack Jewell proposal from
Munich.
It does not require a change to the objectives (since it
will meet "at least 100m on OM3 fiber."
It does require a modification to the baseline proposal
that was approved in Munich.
I plan to participate on the call on
Thursday.
Best regards,

that our next XR ad hoc phone conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 10,
8:30 to 10:30 AM PDT. Please see the invitation below for additional
details. This will be our last
meeting before the July 802.3ba meeting. It will be appreciated by the
task force if, at that meeting, we provide a recommended extended reach
solution. While some phone conference time may be devoted to filling in
the blanks of the comparison matrix and debating the accuracy of various
entries, it is important that we begin the selection
process. At this point only Mark
Gustlin and Mark Nowell, http://www.ieee802.org/3/ba/public/AdHoc/MMF-Reach/docs.html have submitted
criteria. I’ll try to summarize these below in order of priority and let
Mark or Mark provide desired correction. Finally, Alessandro will
host and chair this next phone conference. I will continue to maintain the
comparison matrix. Regards, John Meeting
