Dear Task Force Participants,

Please be aware that the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot on the corrigendum IEEE P802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce) Multilane Timestamping is now open. The ballot announcement is included below for your convenience. The closing date for this ballot is Friday 7th October 2016 23:59 AOE.

As stated in the announcement, the ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Friday 29th July 2016. All comments received before the close of ballot will be considered, the one limitation however is that if you are not a member of the balloting group, and therefore cannot cast a ballot, you cannot designate comments as TR or ER since you cannot cast a Disapprove ballot.

This is the announcement of the electronic IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot on the Amendment IEEE P802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce) Multilane Timestamping. Remember that voting, as well as attendance, is a requirement to maintain your IEEE 802.3 member (voter) status <http://ieee802.org/3/rules/member.html#DOT3>. Instructions for accessing the draft, casting your ballot and submitting comments follow this announcement. The ballot group for this draft is the IEEE 802.3 voting membership as of Friday 29th July 2016.

Because this is a recirculation ballot, YOU ONLY NEED TO CAST A BALLOT IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE FROM THAT WHICH WAS RECORDED ON THE INITIAL BALLOT OR LAST RECIRCULATION. BALLOT SCOPE:
During this IEEE 802.3 Working Group 1st recirculation ballot, the scope of the ballot is the substantive changes between IEEE P802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce)/D1.0 and IEEE P802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce)/D1.1. There are no unsatisfied negative comments.

TITLE:
Standard for Ethernet - Corrigendum 1: Multilane Timestamping

SCOPE OF PROJECT:
Clarification of which lane of the media dependent interface (MDI) of a multilane Physical Layer entity (PHY) is used as the timestamping reference point.

NEED FOR THE PROJECT:
The lane of the MDI of a multilane PHY that should be used as the timestamping reference point needs to be specified. Otherwise, the entire inter-lane skew may need to be accounted for in the receive minimum and receive maximum path data delay register values, impacting the timing accuracy that can be supported.
