Colleagues: You should have received the announcement of the ballot for
our draft. In that e-mail instructions were given on where to get the draft
and how to respond. First – please let me state that it is essential that
all who can return comments using the comment tool. Text comments are
allowed but infinitely more difficult to process. Do everyone a favor and
use the comment tool if at all possible Second – do not wait until the end of the ballot time
to review the document and return your comments. Doing this means you
will likely not respond. Many people fail to get their comments done at
the last minute and invariably ask if they can turn them in late. If you
miss the date the answer will effectively be no – we won’t accept
them late. When you ask, I will undoubtedly wander into some politically
correct dissertation about providing “our best effort” to look at
your comments but, no, we never really have time for it, it never really
happens and our best effort always boils down to we ignore them. Waiting to the bitter end also means that you will place a
large burden on the editors to process your comments - Chad and Matt are
usually such jovial people please don’t intentionally tick them off.
Get them done early. Cheers Mike Michael McCormack Business Development Manager, Power over Ethernet Products Office: +1 603 222 8686 Mobile: +1 603 264 0146 |
