So I guess you are saying that it is financially irresponsible for Dave Dwelley to host a conference and expect the WG members to help cover the expenses?
I will also point out to you that while your cheaper hotel across the street is providing you with your basic accommodations, it is the Hilton that is providing the meeting space and your cheaper hotel is not charging you for this service -- so for sure there will be a discrepancy in charges between the two. You might need to sign up for and attend Business 102 where they teach you that you get what you pay for -- or that you don't get what you don't pay for.
I'm happy to say that I booked my room at the Hilton and fully trust that the host has went through the effort to minimize the meeting cost by finding an appropriate meeting place with appropriate accommodations while also trying to meet cost goals.

Gentle People:
I will again remind you of your fiduciary responsibility
to your shareholders and customers to seek out and use
the lowest cost vendor or service provider. I am again
surprised that we are discussing this in that is is just
Business 101.
