Hi Rick I guess If the floating power supply does not provide a path to ground when the high pot test is done with power on, are we not concerned about the breakdown of the current limit silicon or even the detection circuitry that is running off some power supply I guess the detection method factors in here too!! and a host of other "layout issues" due to capacitive breakdown from the 2000v low frequency applied for 1 second?.
