Re: [RE] Subnet Bandwidth Manager

Title: Subnet Bandwidth Manager
Michael,

I believe your first URL is a typo, should be rfc2814.txt.

(IMHO)
An SBM makes a bit of sense for CSMA/CD or hubs, but
much of it complexity goes away when there are only duplex
links between bridges and end-stations.

Some of the people at today’s meeting wanted to know more about SBM. You can use these URLs for the SBM-related RFCs:
  1. SBM (Subnet Bandwidth Manager): A Protocol for RSVP-based Admission Control over IEEE 802-style networks, ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc2815.txt
  2. Integrated Service Mappings on IEEE 802 Networks , ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc2815.txt
  3. A Framework for Integrated Services Over Shared and Switched IEEE 802 LAN Technologies, ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc2816.txt
