It is a bit complicated. Although the sense of the group at the last meeting was that most of the work needed to be done at the .1 level, there still is a likely requirement for a change to .3 (mostly as a way to know precisely when a frame is sent or received ... something needed for the IEEE 1588-based layer 2 synchronization). There may be other requests for changes, but we really need to get rather deep into any possible changes at the .1 level before we can say exactly what we need at the MAC. We are trying to get a handle on all this so that there could be a PAR request for both .1 and .3 in November. See all the earlier notes on this reflector.
