Dear colleagues,

I would like to request the review of the following draft IEEE 802 LMSC submission by Monday, 20 January 2025, A.O.E, before asking the LMSC to consider approval of the submission tentatively in the upcoming February 2025 LMSC meeting.

On 9 December 2024, France ARCEP began a consultation that seeks public opinions on its draft decision repealing decision no. 2007-0683 of 24 July 2007 as amended and setting the conditions for use of radio frequencies for equipment operating using ultra-wideband technology.  In short, the administration proposes to:
a)  add use cases in the 6 GHz to 8.5 GHz band to the existing regulatory framework for UWB for fixed outdoor uses for location applications and for uses in vehicles
b) establish new higher power limits in the harmonised technical conditions for UWB technologies for indoor use.

A few individuals prepared a response to commend the administration's proposal and provide the administration with the latest status update on P802.15.4ab  The submission was approved by IEEE 802.18 on 14 January 2025 with the following voting results:  15 Yes, 0 No, 3 Abstain.
