Dear 802 LMSC members,
The role of IEEE SA Technical Liaison to ITU-R will transition on March 2, 2026, from Mike Lynch to Karen Mulberry.
Please see the notification below. As recognition to Mike of his 21 years of outstanding service in this role, IEEE SA will send Mike a plaque with the attached acknowledgement.
Please join me in thanking Mike for his contributions to IEEE 802 and 802.18 in particular and include the attached acknowledgement/recognition in the upcoming 802 LMSC March meeting as appropriate.

In the early 2000s, IEEE SA established a relationship with the ITU by becoming a sector member of ITU-T, ITU-R and ITU-D. As part of its sector membership, IEEE SA established an IEEE SA Technical Liaison with ITU-R.
Mike Lynch was appointed as the IEEE SA Technical Liaison to ITU-R on 29 March 2005. Terry deCourcelle (IEEE SA staff) served as the IEEE SA Administrative Liaison to ITU-R.
Over the past ten years, the touch points with the ITU have changed; staff now handle interactions (including the submission of contributions) to ITU-T and ITU-D.
Bringing ITU-R into this centralized function will help ensure that staff are aware of submissions across the ITU.
Therefore, in alignment with current practices with ITU-D and ITU-T, effective 2 March 2026 the contact person for ITU-R is Karen Mulberry. Karen can be reached via email at k.mulbery@xxxxxxxx and by phone at +1 303-668-8855.
