Actions from 802 Meeting

Here's my notes from 802 meeting on updating chair's guidelines. Howard, do
you want to do this or should I? I cannot find the original source file.

1) Add item to chair's guidelines, Section 2.1, note(4) on Press Releases:
(4) Press release drafts should be approved by the SEC (meeting or Email
Ballot). The WG should normally also approve a press release, although in
some cases this cannot be done timely and SEC decision will prevail.

2) Modify chair's tutorial guidelines, Section 2.5, as follows:
Item 3) to now read:
NEW "Hosted by SEC member" rather than
OLD "Hosted by SEC member or Study Group Chair"

NEW "Announced to SEC reflector as soon as sponsor ready to proceed" rather
than
OLD "Announced to SEC reflector"

Item 4) line item deleted:
DELETE "Products looking to be "Standardized""

3) Modify chair's guidelines on Registration Fees, Section 2.4:

NEW: 2) Invited (by members of the SEC) guests who attend meetings for
specific value,
provide tutorials should be exempt from the meeting fee. Unless they pay a
meeting fee, they will not be counted as WG voters. These individuals may
participate in WG meetings. Note that observers are allowed to comment on WG
documents and vote at the IEEE sponsor level if they meet requirements here.
They should not count toward IPF fee. They should register to receive a name
badge.

OLD: 2) Invited (by members of the SEC) guests who attend meetings for
specific value,
provide tutorials and have liaison impact on IEEE 802 activities should be
exempt from
the meeting fee. This would apply to key management in other Standards
Committees
who liaise to 802. These individuals (such as the chair of TR 40.8, the
chair of
JTC1/SC25, etc.) provide a strong value add to our work efforts by their
attendance.
Unless they pay a meeting fee, they will not be counted as WG voters. These
individuals
may participate in WG meetings. Note that observers are allowed to comment
on WG
documents and vote at the IEEE sponsor level if they meet requirements here.
They
should not count toward IPF fee. They should register to receive a name
badge.
