RE: Last Chance to Comment on NCR Statement of Work for Hilton Head Onsite Network
This proposal addresses services to be provided by NCR and may not address
specific issues. NCR has agreed to provide a senior engineer who I feel is
extremely qualified to deliver the support that we want. This engineer will
work at the direction of P802 and can be flexible in his duties. All of
Stuart's concerns can be addressed without any problem. We wanted to provide
a generic statement of work without spending a huge amount of time spelling
out specific work tasks and conditions.
Please let us know if this addresses your concerns as time I running short.
Thanks!
Don Berry

Buzz,
My comments, are that the contract does not take into account the already
purchased 802.11, 802.15, and 802.16 wireless networks. With the following
requirements or exclusions:
1) Hook up to a Ethernet connections on the 802 network, to enable these
networks to become one homogeneous network. Or is this assumed. Then please
someone tell us.
2) Provision of installation of these other networks (if this is required,
but may not be needed !!!)
3) Ability to hook up our (11/15/16) servers to the 802 network.
4) The provision of an 802 server, and where this is coming from.
5) Wireless user support during the week, and not exclusively for the
network or wired portion.
6) Printing support (may not be in this phase ?)
Lastly, co-ordination with the wireless groups. I know that this is new and
we need to start somewhere but ... and finally, ARE WE having an outside
connection to the internet. This being a provocative subject.
Stuart

OK, My last attempt failed because the file was too big and the exploder
threw it out (see below). So I'm sending a smaller *.pdf version and you now
have until 6pm PST, Thursday, 3/1/01 to get back to me with comments. Sorry
for the mix-up.
