SEC OFFICIAL EMAIL BALLOT 802.0/1June2001
Issue Date: 1Jun2001Closing Date: 11Jun2001
Moved By: Jim Carlo
Move: Support the nomination of the following candidates for IEEE Medallion
Awards
Bob Grow - For leadership and technical contributions to high speed
networking standards over the past two decades including FDDI, token bus,
token ring and gigabit Ethernet.
Bob O'Hara - For leadership and technical contributions on LAN/MAN wireless
networking standards over the past decade.
David Law - For leadership and technical contributions to high speed
Ethernet networking standards over the past two decades.
Paul Nikolich - For leadership and technical contributions on LAN/MAN
networking standards over the past two decades including Ethernet, Cable
Modem, Wireless networking and IEEE 802 strategic directions.
Notes:
1) I have found my notes on nominations for medallion awards and have made a
proposed selection for the following to be nominated to the IEEE for this
award. Other top candidates were nominated, but my view is that an awardee
needs to still be an active member of 802 and someone who contributes to the
organizational items as well as the technical standards. Note that others
need to be nominated (particularly in the wireless activitites). I WOULD
EXPECT THAT ANY CONCERNS WITH THESE CANDIDATES BE SENT TO ME PRIVATELY.
2) Previous Award Winners were:
Vic Hayes

Bob Love
