Re: [802SEC] 'connected car' study item liaison statement from 3GPP

I think that we should move forward to create the Document Group "ECCM - EC Communications" on Mentor in the
802 Executive Committee Documents area for the Liaison documents that we send/receive.  This would be step one.
Then we can agree on what form the documents should take...do we include cover letter, email etc into a pdf or zip file....
the later details can come later as we work together on best practices, but I would suggest we start with the area and start posting the Liaison communications there.

Hello James,

I agree this would be simplest.
However,  I think we also need to capture any cover letter or email content,  as this might indicate the intended use or expected response.

I would say we should have a new doc group:  "Incoming Liaisons"

Documents posted must contain any cover letter or email content as well as any document liaised - i.e. the source, purpose and expected response are clear.  If the document is marked copyright,  the posted document shall include a copyright release,  and the person doing the posting is responsible for getting the release (this will make is a popular job :0).

(There are a couple of ways of practically doing all this.  I would merge any multiple documents (email, copyright release, doc) using pdf.  An alternative might be to post a .zip containing these as separate docs.)

The "author" metadata should clearly indicate the source person and organization.  But do we also need to track the person posting?

Adrian

Perhaps we should have a document category under the EC portion for liaisons and external communications?  That is the simplest to create (takes only a few minutes, as I am sure you know).
