Re: [802SEC] Early close on EC electronic motions

I’m with Pat on this.   Once the matter is decided,  I don’t see any need to wait around for

an “official” closing date.   Only negative in my mind is we cut off “deliberative” debate,  which might

affect somebody’s vote if they are undecided.  Can’t remember seeing anybody change their vote recently.

It seems like almost every EC electronic motion that has been made indicates it is using the early close provision.

 

Perhaps next time we revise the OM we should consider revising the text on EC electronic ballot to make the early close provision apply all the time.
