[802SEC] IEEE Std 802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce)

Dear EC members,

In support of subclause 10.2 'IEEE 802 LMSC Approval' of the LMSC Operations Manual, based on its '48 hour' rule provision, and the concurrence of the sponsor chair as required, please find below the required information in respect to the IEEE Std 802.3-2015/Cor 1 (IEEE 802.3ce) Standard for Ethernet - Corrigendum 1: Multilane timestamping.

Best regards,

[1] Draft PAR and CSD responses:

Draft PAR: Please see file <P802_3_2015_Cor_1_PAR_150316.pdf> attached.
CSD responses: Not required.

[2] Explanatory technical background material:

IEEE Std 802.3-2015 does not define which lane of the MDI should be used as the timing reference point in a multilane PHY. Due to this the entire inter-lane skew may need to be accounted for in the receive minimum and receive maximum path data delay register values, impacting upon the timing accuracy that can be supported.

[3] Status of the development of the PAR:

The draft PAR is pending IEEE 802.3 Working Group approval at its closing plenary Thursday.

This email is sent from the 802 Executive Committee email reflector. This list is maintained by Listserv.
