Re: [802SEC] initial IMT-2020 Circular Letter released

Roger,

Thank you for this updated information.  The window for RIT or SRITs proposal submissions is fairly wide--October 2017 to mid-2019.  A couple of the cost/benefit parameters the 5G/IMT2020 Standing Committee should consider is when would be the best time to submit an 802 submission (if any) and the value of registering to become an 'evaluation group' (which has a deadline of June 2017, it appears).  Food for thought for the Standing Committee.

Regards,

For those of you interested in IMT-2020, the initial Circular Letter announcing the process has been released.

As I mentioned in document ec-16-0034-00-5GSG, the draft was approved and would be posted, in finalized version, to a new IMT-2020 web page.

The IMT-2020 Circular Letter (entitled “Invitation for submission of proposals for candidate radio interface technologies for the terrestrial components of the radio interface(s) for IMT-2020 and invitation to participate in their subsequent evaluation”) is now available. It will be updated multiple times through 2017.

The IMT-2020 submission and evaluation process web site is also now active. It has a link to the Circular Letter, though, as of this email, that link is to a draft instead of the released version.
