Dear LMSC members,

I would like to thank everyone for the replies on this ballot.

 

In accordance with 4.1.2 on Voting rules of the IEEE project 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee (LMSC) Operations Manua this ballot is closed.

 

Please see below for results of the ballot, and per 7.2.1 for the results, the “Motion passes”.

 

I will make the couple of edits and a clean pdf then work with Paul to submit our comments to the ICASA email per the consultation.

Dear LMSC Members,

 

With this email I would like to announce the start of an LMSC(EC) ballot on comments to ICASA, Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, on a consultation to update their spectrum allocation table. The deadline to provide this input is COB 06 September, their time.

 

Paul has delegated to me to conduct a LMSC(EC) 10-day electronic ballot on the motion below to approve comments to ICASA (S. Africa).  This EC motion is per 802 OM 7.2 Procedure and also P&P 7.1 b) (majority response) and 7.1.2 (2/3 approval of votes cast) for communication with government bodies.

 

       Motion:  Move to approve the comments in https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/19/18-19-0115-02-0000-icasa-s-africa-intentions-to-amend-spectrum-regs-ieee-802-comments.docx response to ICASA consultation paper on Notice of Intentions to amend annexure B of the radio frequency spectrum regulations, 2015. With the chair of 802.18 to have editorial privileges and send to ICASA with IEEE 802 Chair approval by 05 September 2019.

Note: TVWS and 5.9 GHz spectrum was brought up since not in ICASA’s consultation,  though when we did get started and just a few days to put all together, time allowed focus on the contribution text that came and we didn't have text for these and out of time. it is understood the TVWS alliance will be doing some comments on importance of TVWS.
