Re: [802SEC] Letter of support from IEEE 802 for IEEE 802.3 nominations to NFPA 70

Hi Geoff,

George is correct. These individuals were appointed by me, then confirmed by both the IEEE 802.3 Working Group <http://ieee802.org/3/minutes/may20/0520_802_3_interim.pdf#page=21> and the IEEE 802 Executive Committee <https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/20/ec-20-0072-00-00EC-may-5-2020-ec-teleconfernce-minutes.pdf#page=4>, as IEEE 802.3 liaison officers to serve as IEEE 802.3 organisational representatives to NFPA 70 Code Making Panels (CMP). As a result of their appointment, these individuals submitted applications using the application form on the NFPA website for their respective NFPA 70 CMP to serve as NFPA 70 CMP members representing IEEE 802.3. These applications will be considered at the August 2020 NFPA Standards Council meeting.

Best regards,
  David

George-
I thought as much.
Awaiting confirmation from David on this.

They have submitted applications and the nfpa application itself takes care of both the individuals qualifications and indicating the organization being represented. We (802.3) approved and David provided letters from 802.3 indicating each applicant. This is about the organization making its views known on the situation with ieee reps.
