Pat – thank you for the updates.  I had not realized that the Body Area Networks combined automotive bodies as well as human bodies (I had thought they were human body networks).  Having done a bit of work in automotive networking, I am somewhat familiar with the EM environment there, and it seems substantially different from what a human body would ordinarily deal with, including issues of compatibility, interference tolerance with high-levels of EM signals often due to interactions of the automotive body with EM fields.  I would have thought that these (automotive and human networks) are two different problems, requiring different environmental expertise.  Is the expertise present in the proposed SG from the automotive industry?

This is an update to the email I sent on Tuesday, 16 March showing the 6 motions I will present at the closing 802 EC meeting. The 6 motions to presented to the EC, (4 motions are for the formation of Study Groups as mentioned in the opening meeting, as well as two motions for unconditional approval to forward drafts to RevCom) have been updated with 802.15 WG voting results.  

 

Approve the formation of Study Groups

 

1) Approve the formation of an 802.15 SG15.6a Study Group to consider development of a Project Authorization Request (PAR) and Criteria for Standards Development (CSD) responses for IEEE Std 802.15.6 amendment: for enhanced dependability.

In addition to the approval of the new slate of officers for the 802.15 WG, I will have 6 motions to present to the EC, 4 motions are for Study Groups as mentioned in the opening meeting, as well as two motions for unconditional approval to forward drafts to RevCom.  The 802.15 WG will vote on the respective WG motions on Wednesday, 17 March 2021 at its closing plenary, I will input the votes at that time and resend this email.  The prepared EC motions are below.
