Re: [802SEC] Dear John // Fwd: +++10-day EC Motion+++ Approval of submission for European Commission RSPG’s consultation “Opinion on the ITU-R World Radiocommunication Conference 2023”

Dear John,

Thank you very much for your review and constructive comments.  I've talked to the authors of the draft paper and they agree with your proposed change from "will" to "are expected to" and they also decide to move the references after the signature.   Enclosed please find revision 9 of the proposed response for your reference.  It is also updated to the 802.18 mentor.

Regards,
Edward

Edward,

I had unexpected time to further review this.

I would like to change my vote to approve with a suggested editorial –

In the second to last paragraph on the first page is the following sentence –

Without doubt, current and next generations of WAS/RLAN technology based on IEEE Std. 802.11ax-2021 [3] and IEEE 802.11be [4] will play a critical role in achieving “Excellent and secure connectivity for everybody and everywhere in Europe,” which “is a prerequisite for a society in which every business and citizen can fully participate” [2].

I think this could be better worded so IEEE 802 doesn’t sound so sure of itself.  Something like

Current and next generations of WAS/RLAN technology based on IEEE Std. 802.11ax-2021 [3] and IEEE 802.11be [4] are expected to play a critical role in achieving “Excellent and secure connectivity for everybody and everywhere in Europe,” which “is a prerequisite for a society in which every business and citizen can fully participate” [2].

Also – are references typically included in the body of the text or after the signature?

John
