Dear colleagues,
I would like to request the review of the following two draft IEEE 802 LMSC submissions by Thursday 14 November 2024, A.O.E, before asking the LMSC to tentatively consider approval of these two submissions in its closing plenary meeting on 15 November 2024:
1) Japan MIC's consultation re special exemption plan
2) Saudi Arabia CST's consultation re 6 GHz AFC
1) Japan MIC's consultation re special exemption plan
On 18 October 2024, Japan MIC began a consultation "Call for opinions on the proposed ministerial ordinance to amend part of the Radio Law Enforcement Regulations: Addition of systems and bands to the special exemption system for non-technical equipment", which seeks public opinions on the following:
1) Addition of systems subject to the special system for devices brought overseas (90-day rule), which is related to 60 GHz and UWB devices
2) Addition of systems subject to the special system for experimental radio stations (180-day rule), in which the proposed regulation extends it to 6 GHz VLP and LPI Wi-Fi.
An individual prepared a response with an opinion that supports the administration's above-mentioned proposals.
2) Saudi Arabia CST's consultation re 6 GHz AFC
On 23 October 2024, Saudi Arabia CST began a consultation "Light Licensing Regulations Annex for the 6 GHz Frequency Band" that seeks public opinions on its proposal in using AFC for 6 GHz WLAN of higher transmit power, and the required technical conditions.
An individual prepared a response with an opinion that commends the administration's effort and replies to a few questions on the proposed technical requirements.
Thanks and Regards,
Edward
