[802SEC] 2024 November IEEE 802 Plenary: Change to Chairs Guidelines 4.5

Greetings,
During the RUles Meeting last night, I was given the action item to prepare a motion to modify the Chair's Guidelines section 4.5.
I will make this motion during Friday's 802 LMSC Closing meeting

I have included a motion in my 802 Executive Secretary Slide deck: 802 EC-24/0274r1 (This slide deck will be posted soon, and updated on Thursday with the Future Meetings AdHoc information as well, so by Friday, it may be R2 or R3.).

Anyway, to make this email complete: Here is the information to consider on Friday:

Slide 10: Motion to Replace 4.5 in 802 Chair’s Guideline  (#10):
Currently in the IEEE 802 LMSC Chairs Guidelines: 802-EC-17/0120r37:
https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/17/ec-17-0120-37-0PNP-ieee-802-lmsc-chairs-guidelines.pdf

“4.5 Length of hotel stay for discounted registration
(LMSC email ballot, closed 15 October 2010)
In the November 2009 meeting, the LMSC passed the motion that enabled a surcharge of $300 to the registration fee for those attendees not booking and staying in the IEEE 802-contracted hotel. Proof of hotel stay will be required to prevent the surcharge.
The purpose of this motion is to clarify what a "hotel stay" means. The result of the motion was that a hotel stay was defined as at least one night booking and staying in the IEEE 802 contracted hotel.
Effective beginning with the November 2010 meeting.”

Motion to Replace paragraph 4.5 on next slide.

Slide 11: Motion to Replace 4.5 in 802 Chair’s Guideline (#2)
Motion: Move to replace paragraph 4.5 with the following Text:

(LMSC Motion XXX on Nov 15, 2024 – IEEE 802 LMSC Closing Meeting)
In the November 2024 802 LMSC Closing meeting, the LMSC passed the motion that provides for a discount of $300 to the registration fee for those attendees booking and staying in the IEEE 802-contracted hotel for at least 3 nights.  Proof of hotel stay will be required to earn the discount.
The result of the motion was that a hotel stay was defined as at least three nights booking and staying in the IEEE 802 contracted hotel in order to be granted a discount of $300.
