stds-802-16: SYSREQ: Document revision time-line through November 1999

[Notice: It is the policy of 802.16 to treat messages posted here as non-confidential.]

Hello,

This message is to give you an idea of our document revision plans through our
November session to help you plan your participation in the System Requirements
Task Group. Our main activity, if you haven't already gathered, is revising the
system requirements document.

-Aug. 11: Publish Draft 4 and current comment database; call for comments
(document is MS-Word-based)
-Aug. 31: Comment deadline (no more comments accepted until Draft 5 is out);
publish instructions for on-line comment resolution (or partial resolution)
-Sept. 1: On-line comment resolution process begins (details and instructions to
be published later)
-Sept. 16-17: Session #3 at Boulder. Sysreq "QoS" and "Terminology" ad-hoc
groups meet to generate output
-Sept 24: Deadline for output from ad-hoc groups to be sent to the editor for
inclusion in Draft 5.
-Sept 24: Deadline for on-line comment resolution (details and instructions to
be published later)
-Sept. 30: Publish Draft 5 with some resolved comments and output from ad-hoc
groups; New call-for-comments issued (FrameMaker-based)
-Nov. 3: Deadline for comments to be considered at Session #4
-November 8-11: Session #4 in Hawaii: Resolve all outstanding comments

This timeline allows for two published drafts, two comment periods, and an
attempt at some on-line comment resolution. At Denver last week, November
seemed far away, but the schedule looks full. The largest block of time is
about 1 month for comments after draft 5 is published.

Best Regards,

Brian Petry
