Re: [802.19] Straw Poll Answer

Security is not outside the scope of the TVWS database access.  The WhiteSpace database consortium of Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and others are addressing security under the guidance in the 08-260 R&O around database access. IEEE 802 will also need to address the security of access to the WS database or follow the direction of some other body like the consortium.

Hi Steve,
I found out that security is outside of the scope of 19 and TVWS so that helps….and on the others
I will answer according to the questions as written….I will be off line tomorrow for most of the day…
So I wanted to get my ballot in today….

Hi Steve,

Unfortunately I was on the call intermittently so I missed some of the conversation, and the minutes will
probably not be out before I vote and/or those who were not on the call…So if you wouldn’t mind, I have a couple
of questions before I vote on the straw polls..

RE questions 2,3,4 : Is it out of scope to have included non 802 devices
Is security out of scope for .19 and .802TVWS?

Thanks lots, Nancy

All,

Here are the instructions for the straw poll on TVWS coexistence SG deliverables.

Straw Poll Instructions

1.       Save the attached spreadsheet and change the file name to your personal name in the form “First_Last”

  1. In Column B row 1 change the word “Name” to your personal name
  2. In Column B rows 2-5 enter either “Yes”, “No” or “Abstain” for each of the possible SG deliverables, indicating your support or lack of support for development of each deliverable
  3. Save the revised file and email it back to me by the end of the day on Friday April 17.  There is no need to send the file to the entire email list
