20th Year Celebration Status
1) We will have two speakers from Walt Disney Imagineering, Tony Tamalunas
and Ken Wagner, who will present a tutorial on Tuesday evening describing
the use of Ethernet standards at Walt Disney productions. This seminar,
arranged by Steve Carlson, is a one of its kind, presented by the Walt
Disney people. Since these speakers are soley here at our request, while
they will register, they will be exempt from the meeting registration fee.
2) On Wednesday evening social, both Don Loughry and Maris Graube, the other
former chairs of IEEE 802 have agreed to attend and say a few words on their
reflections on IEEE 802. These speakers are present at my request, and will
be exempt from the meeting registration fee.
3) We will have hackysacks available for distribution at the meeting, with
the IEEE 802 logo and 20 years. Thanks to Darcel and Howard for arranging
this.
4) Don Loughry is searching for an 8mm movie of "Snow White and the 802
dwarfs", which was a play presented at the ten year anniversary. If he can
find this, we may show either on Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Anyone else
with video momentos of 802 are welcome to bring them forward.
5) Buzz/Dawn are trying to arrange a super-social on Wednesday evening.
