Subject: ACTION REQUIRED: PARs due to expire December 2018 - C/LM

Dear James,

This email is to remind you that the projects listed below will expire at the end of 2018 and action is required.

P802.1CF Recommended Practice for Network Reference Model and Functional Description of IEEE 802 Access Network

P802.15.4r Standard for Local and metropolitan area networks--Part 15.4: Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Networks (LR-WPANs) Amendment for Radio based Distance Measurement Techniques

P802.11ax Standard for Information Technology -- Telecommunications and Information Exchange Between Systems Local and Metropolitan Area Networks -- Specific Requirements Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications Amendment Enhancements for High Efficiency WLAN

P802.22 Standard for Information Technology - Local and  Metropolitan Area Networks - Specific Requirements - Part 22: Cognitive Radio Wireless Regional Area Networks (WRAN) Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications: Policies and Procedures for Operation in the Bands that Allow  Spectrum Sharing where the Communications Devices may Opportunistically Operate in the Spectrum of the Primary Service

P802.22.3 Standard for Spectrum Characterization and Occupancy Sensing

P802.3bt Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Physical Layer and Management Parameters for DTE Power via MDI over 4-Pair

P802.15.7 Standard for Short-Range Optical Wireless Communications

If any of these projects will not be submitted to RevCom by the submittal deadline for the December 2018 meeting, you need to take one of the following steps:

1. Request an extension for the project (PAR). Extension requests are usually granted from one to two years. Significant justification must be provided for an extension request that exceeds two years. Please note, submitting a PAR extension request will not extend the life of a standard that expires at the end of 2018. Please see these FAQs about Maintenance of Standards.

2. Request withdrawal of the project (PAR).

Log on to myProject (https://development.standards.ieee.org/my-site) to submit a request for either of these actions under the link for 'Submit a PAR'. Once submitted, the request to Extend an Approved PAR or the request to Withdraw an Approved PAR will be placed on the agenda of the next scheduled NesCom meeting. NesCom will make its recommendation based upon the information provided.

If there is no response to this notification by the 15 October 2018 NesCom/RevCom submittal deadline, the PARs will be recommended for administrative withdrawal at the 5 December 2018 IEEE-SA Standards Board meeting.

For your reference, the upcoming NesCom/RevCom meetings and submittal deadlines can be found on this calendar:
http://standards.ieeeorg/about/sasb/2018calendar.pdf. The next submittal deadline is 4 May 2018 for the June NesCom/RevCom meetings.

Also, I have looked for the PARs on upcoming agendas, but if any remained on this list in error, please let me know. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Best regards,

Lisa Weisser
