Agreed, Mark.
I think we only need to adjust behaviour in what is obviously “pre-PAR” activity. Other activities arguable come under WG rules, which requires the call for patents. Thanks for the info and update, Adrian. If it’s okay with you/the WG leadership, I’d like to keep using the usual slides in ARC and making the patent call. It is not always clear when we cross the line into work that could be considered

Hello Both, Please be aware that the IEEE Standards Board FAQ (http://standards.ieee.org/faqs/patents.pdf) includes: “4a. Should a Call for Patents be issued at a Study Group or other pre - PAR meeting? No. However, it is recommended that the „Patent Slides for pre-PAR Meetings‟ be used in these meetings.” The cited document may be found here:
