--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Chairs' Advisory Committee Reflector ---
FYI, I am one of the authors of the liaison, and happy to try to explain what is really being asked, wherever that makes sense.
My opinion on what to do:
- I am planning to work with 802.1 on a first pass response to this, as I think the questions mostly relate to their standards around OUI (/Address) allocation and usage. I'm working with Glenn Parsons to get at least a first review of the liaison done this week, while I can be here face-to-face to answer questions for them, during that process.
- Depending on the results of 802.1's review, there may or may not be anything for 802.11 to do. Anything we need to do I suspect is just clarification. It is likely around the Roaming Consortium OI use of the OUI element and/or the OUI element itself. So, this is likely 11ai stuff. Thus, if there is work to do, it probably has to be done in REVmd, with help from 11ai experts (or experts in WFA Passpoint).

Subject: [STDS-802-11] Liaison from WBA on roaming OUI
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.11 participants,
I have received a liaison statement from the WBA, here:
https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/17/11-17-1756-00-0000-liaison-statement-from-wba-on-ieee-roaming-oui.doc
I will consult with the CAC as to whether any group here should pay attention to it.
