Hi Jay, all, I think we need more discussion and dedicated SP to cover the case when CTS can be skipped. This is a second level details. Meanwhile, based on Jay’s suggestion, maybe we can run the following SP: Do you support the inclusion of the following in the SFD for 802.11be R1:
Note: The non-TB PPDUs may be transmitted by the STA to AP or by the STA to a peer of a peer-to-peer link. Regards, Dibakar From: Yang, Zhijie (NSB - CN/Shanghai) <zhijie.yang@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Hi Dibakar, As we talked in the private mail loop, I suggest adding a bullet that “The modified MU-RTS Trigger frame is not always soliciting CTS frame as response” in the SP of 1312r3, which is also aligned with your
thought in slide5 that AP can control the behavior that solicits CTS sent by STA as response or not. To reduce the confused understanding from other group member, explain more on this point as bellow. Let’s collect the voice from others in this mail loop. As you know, it’s mandatory to solicit CTS as response after RTS according to current SPEC. As to the single user P2P or UL case in your contribution, it doesn’t make sense to let the STA send CTS frame after AP
sends MU-RTS frame, as the CTS frame is not used to find the hidden node (or medium available detection) in the proposal. To reduce the exchange legacy, STA can sends SU PPDU after AP sends the variant MU-RTS frame. To make this intention more clear to group
member, I think it’s better to add the suggested bullet. Revised SP: Do you support the inclusion of the following in the SFD for 802.11be R1:
Note: The non-TB PPDUs may be transmitted by the STA to AP or by the STA to a peer of a peer-to-peer link. Thanks Best Regards Jay Yang From: Das, Dibakar <dibakar.das@xxxxxxxxx>
