Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBH] TGbh proposal summaries and comparison

Jouni/all,

Sorry - I missed this thread last week.  I did something similar over the weekend, and just sent it out to the various solution proponents for their comment/feedback before I post it.  I'll post it later tomorrow.

I tried to use the set of considerations we discussed on the Feb 8 call (as captured in the agenda deck, which I just finally uploaded here: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/22/11-22-0290-01-00bh-agenda-tgbh-2022-february-8.pptx, on slide 16).  We can compare/contrast these analyses on the next call, on Thursday.

Mark

To all,

I have put my proposal (22/117r0) as proposal #4 and uploaded as 22/296r2

A good start, thanks Jouni.  I have added the MAAD MAC scheme as Proposal 3 and uploaded 296r1.

I suspect we need more lines in the Property Comparison Table.
Maybe best coming from neutral sources :>)

For example I struggled a bit with what to put on the "Independent of over-the-air MAC address".  MAAD MAC does use OTA MAC but it is purely a random, one time use address - no identification is embedded.
Also maybe some comparison on complexity/ testability/implementation ease/cool acronym.

Still it’s a start.
So suggest we give some thought on the chart.

Graham

Based on the discussion on the call today, I created a contribution that could be used as a presentation of one-slide summaries of each proposal for P802.11bh and tables for comparing such proposals from the view point of use cases/features and other properties. Would this be something that others would find helpful for us trying to move ahead with the draft development? Would authors' of proposals be willing to fill in such summaries and comparison tables for their proposals? Is there some other items for the tables that should be added (or modified in the current ones) to make this more useful or accurate/fair comparison?

I posted an initial version of the document here with two proposals
(158r3 and 187r1) as a starting point:
