Re: [STDS-802-11-TGM] Updated REVmd EDITOR2 ad-hoc spreadsheet uploaded

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Task Group M Technical Reflector ---

Hi, Edward,

So, obviously I need to synch with you on the CIDs I asked to pull from this submission.  Here are some quick thoughts.  We can coordinate/discuss via email well enough to sort this out, I suspect.

CID 48: A “can” in clause 11 means the 802.11 Standard is giving permission to some device to do this.  I don’t think that’s quite what we want here.  I know, the previous text said “can”, also …  but, it was nestled inside a sentence that started “For example”.  By removing that, I think we need to be more careful with the wording.  I would suggest changing “can” to “might”.  I’m not sure why you (or Graham) wanted to remove the “For example”, though – that seems very clear and appropriate to be here, I think.  Maybe “For example, the above procedure could/might be used for IP address configuration.”  (I don’t remember what the rules are for using “could” though.)

CID 231: I just wanted to let you know that I think I looked into the issue of not listed Aware window in all the places that needed it, during REVmc.  I am in support of getting this wording correct in the Standard, but I need to do a bit of research to convice myself that Mark is right about the split between ATIM window and Awake windows.

CID 238: I support the intention here.  But, I thought the proposed changes language was a bit to fuxxy/open to interpretation to just say “Accept.”  I’ll try to find a little time to look through the Standard for these references and see if really is that easy, or not.

CID 263: Changing “a single buffered BU” to “a BU” loses the “buffered” adjective.  I believe this is needed here, but I haven’t double-checked, yet.

CID 331: This CID has been handled already via a motion this week.  I think it should be removed from this spreadsheet to avoid confusion that there is any work to do/that can be done.

Thanks.  Mark

Hi,

I have uploaded an updated REVmd EDITOR2 ad-hoc comment resolution spreadsheet at https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/17/11-17-0929-02-000m-revmd-editor2-comments.xlsx

This includes the “Motion EDITOR2 - A” tab, with 34 CIDs approved by the task group on Thursday PM2.   There are still 7 remaining CIDs to be resolved.

Regards,
Edward

Hi,

I've uploaded the first update for REVmd EDITOR2 ad-hoc comments, from the Comment Collectio, at:

Among these 42 comments, I've accepted majority of them, revised 3, and awaiting inputs from commenters on the remaining CIDs.

CID 189 needs discussion on a future teleconference or in July plenary.

Regards,
Edward
