[STDS-802-11-TGM] Colocated vs Collocated vs Co-located CIDs 1319 (ED1), 1320 (ED1), 2048 (PHY) and 2210 (GEN)

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Task Group M Technical Reflector ---
Greetings,
I believe that this Topic should be assigned to Emily QI as Editor, this is an Editor Topic.
All 4 CIDs Should at least be assigned to the same person to provide one coherent proposal.
Regards,
Jon

CID 1319 (ED1)
Assigned: Emily QI
Commenter: Mark HAMILTON
Comment:
It looks like we got rid of most occurrences of "colocated" (with one 'L') except in MIB attribute names.  However, 2 hyphenated occurrences got left, and 2 occurrences in MIB description text got left.
Proposed Change:
Change colocated (hyphenated or not) to "collocated" at the cited location, and P1816.13, P5286.14, and P5286.28.
AdHoc Notes:
ED1: 2022-04-11 17:12:59Z - status set to: Submission Required
ED1: 2022-01-15 21:24:21Z - status set to: Review
CID 1320 (ED1)
Assigned: Emily QI
Commenter: Mark HAMILTON
Comment:
We still have a mixed bag of "co-located" and "collocated" in the Standard.  Pick one.
Proposed Change:
I would suggest changing "collocated" to "co-located", as my research indicates that "collocated" is an old word with a slightly different meaning.  But, either way, make them all the same spelling, picking one or the other.
AdHoc Notes:

ED1: 2022-01-15 21:24:30Z - status set to: Review

CID 2048 (PHY)
Assigned: Mark RISON
Commenter: Mark RISON
Comment:
The claimed distinction between "collocated" and "co-located" is a fantasy, and it is guaranteed to lead to immediate spec rot.  Alternatively, at least define the distinction in the spec.  (See CID 4800 in REVmd)
Proposed Change:
Change "co-located" (case-insensitively) to "collocated" (case-preservingly).  I can provide locations.  Also change "Colocated" to "Collocated" in C.3 (5286.14/28)

CID 2210 (GEN):
Assigned: Emily QI  (New June 3)
Commenter: Pascal VIGER
Comment:
It seems the term collocated has various significations along the draft, including various wording such as collocated (e.g. collocated radio) and  co-located (e.g. co-located AP).
Proposed Change:
Please harmonize the terminology, and make the difference clearer.

Hi Jon,

CID 2210 was assigned to myself, but I requested some other members (close to that domain) if they wish to resolve it.

Dibakar answers positively.

Could you please update the CID assignment accordingly ?

Thank you,

Best regards

Pascal
